NO OBJECTION TO BRIGG TESCO RENEWAL OF PERMISSION

Brigg Town Council is raising no objections to Tesco renewing planning permission for extensions to the current store.

The retail giant is seeking permission to replace the planning permission of March 2009 in which it was given the go-ahead for extension to sales area, bulk store, cage marshalling area and the petrol filling station, with associated car park alterations.
North Lincolnshire Council will now decide whether to grant approval.
Late last year, Tesco received the green light from North Lincolnshire’s planning committee for a brand new Brigg store.
However, that was subject to a legal agreement being agreed and signed, on which so far there has been no announcement in the public domain from either side.
Tesco is seeking to keep open the option of extending what it already has by renewing the existing planning permission.
Brigg Town Clerk Jeanette Woollard told members of the Planning and Environment Committee during a meeting in the Angel Suite: “The idea is to keep this one live.”

I wonder who's dragging their feet in the 'signed legal agreement'?
We were originally informed that their new build was a joint venture between Tesco and Lidl.
Since then, while the value of utility supermarkets like Lidl have increased, Tesco shares have plummeted.
