Residents and shopkeepers in and around the Queen Street area of Brigg have received hand-delivered letters outlining the Residents' Parking Permit Scheme, which is due to commence on 15th March (tomorrow).
Residents are now receiving application forms for permits. The cost is £40
Qualifying residents have to present the vehicle's V5 (log book).
New road signs will be erected in the very near future.
Meanwhile, Queen Street Action Group (QUAG) is monitoring the situation, not least the displacement of parked cars to other nearby streets and any inconvenence so caused.
North Lincolnshire Council have also given assurances to monitor the situation and NLC, Brigg Town Council and QUAG represeatives have arranged to meet three months after the start of the residents' parking scheme to review the arrangements and implications.
QUAG is particularly keen to monitor such streets as Albert Street; a thoroughfare that is thought particularly vulnerable to on-street parking congestion and which is exacerbated by a comparatively large number of NLC staff using if for quite legitimate parking, in lieu of the allocated car parking facilities at Hewson House.
