We've just been round the new Boyes store in Brigg - created from the former Brown & Co auction rooms.
The newcomer to town opened its doors to the public this morning.
We nipped in at lunchtime and found the place pretty busy.
It's Tardis like - much bigger inside than some of us will have imagined.
We weren't planning to buy anything, but came away with a couple of packs of 40w candle lightbulbs, having been attracted (moth like?) by the low price.
We'll post more on Boyes and a picture or two tomorrow, together with a piece about another new Brigg shop that also opened to the public today (Friday).

SATURDAY HOME GAME FOR BRIGG TOWN FC
Brigg Town FC are at home to Sutton Coldfield tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
Your support will be welcome at The Hawthorns.
The Zebras play in the Evo-Stik League Division One South.
BRIGG HISTORIANS LEARN ABOUT MOUNTBATTENS
The October meeting of Brigg Amateur Social Historians (BASH) - held at Brigg & District Servicemen's Club - was a fascinating slide show about the Mountbatten family and their links to Queen Victoria and the present Royal Family.
The next BASH talk to be held on November 6th is The Gunpowder Plot - an illustrated talk by Linda Hotchkiss.
The BASH Halloween Ghost Walk will be held on October 31st and will be leaving The White Horse pub at 7pm. This is ticket only - available from Brigg Tourist Information Centre, The Buttercross, Market Place.
Report and picture kindly supplied by Phil Allen (BASH Committee).

DIYA SPICE SPREADING THE WORD IN BRIGG
Just received a hand-delivered new menu from the Diya Spice Indian takeaway in Brigg (on Bigby Street).
The distribution of these menus across Brigg should be good for business - I'm already feeling tempted.
A great selection but it would be interesting to know whether Boti Kebab is a big seller!
Always include the Pickle Tray with whatever you order from the Diya Spice - if you want a recommendation.

BRIGG TOWN FC AT HOME TO STAMFORD
Brigg Town FC host Stamford this afternoon at the Hawthorns (3pm).
As always, the Zebras would appreciate your support in the Evo-Stik League Division One South.
Brigg are mid-table at present.
Usual light refreshments available at the ground, which has its own bar - if you fancy an after-match pint.
Plenty of free car parking also available (entry gained of Wrawby Road - past the Recreation Ground).

FINAL REMINDER ON BRIGG BIOMASS PUBLIC EXHIBITION
Today (Sat Oct 6) the Angel Suite in Brigg is the venue for a public exhibition about the proposed Centrica Glanford Brigg Biomass Power Station.
Between 10am and 4pm you can speak to staff from the company and collect information about the development which is earmarked to create about 50 news jobs on part of the former Brigg Sugar Factory site, near the New River Ancholme.
Rail (from Immingham?) is the proposed method for bringing in the wood pellets to fuel the plant.

ALL FINE AT LLOYDS TSB BANK IN BRIGG
The cashpoint at the Lloyds TSB Brigg branch in Wrawby Street is working fine this morning (9am - Sat Oct 6). We've just used it without any problems.
Some scare stories about nationally regarding certain banks' cashpoints being out of action for technical reasons.
