Brigg is to see added signage to help people locate the Library adjoining the Wellbeing Hub, through which a range of public services can be accessed and advice and assistance obtained from North Lincolnshire Council.
The Library and Hub are situated within the Angel in the Market Place, but signage on the frontage does not mention the Library (see pictures).
The Angel is in the heart of the conservation area with its range of historic buildings, so any signage has to be given careful consideration.
Brigg Town Council's latest meeting heard that some people were unaware of the Library's location.
Coun Penny Smith said the Oxfam Book Shop, on Wrawby Street, received many Library-related inquiries and directed people who called in.
"We need to encourage reading," she stressed.
The Library is best accessed from the front entrance to the Angel.
Turn right BEFORE reaching the Cafe Courtyard and ask council staff for directions or follow the internal signage.
Access is also possible from the rear of the building, adjoining the car park.
However, the Library is not currently listed on the external signs displayed (seen below).
