Brigg Blog is pleased to see that one of the relatively few vacant shops in our town centre is being brought back into retail use.
It will be operating at 57 Wrawby Street, which is alongside the brick archway leading through to the Exchange.
The new business is called The Shoe Room.
No 57 latterly housed a computer repair/sales business but has been vacant for some months.
From the early 1950s to the mid-1980s, the Lincolnshire Times weekly newspaper occupied these premises.
While on the editorial staff we wore out plenty of shoe-leather covering stories from what is now to become a shop dealing in footwear!
Shoefayre would still have been operating further along Wrawby Street at that time.
They had a wide range on offer; so much so that male customers had a Tuf choice!
