An update on the extensive Newlands Estate sewer, road and path improvements contract has been given to Brigg Town Council.
It came from our three Brigg & Wolds Ward representatives on North Lincolnshire Council, the highway authority.
"Work is still ongoing on Birch Avenue, although we are advised it is still on schedule and we continue to receive compliments from residents about the conduct of the contractors," said Couns Carl Sherwood, Coun Rob Waltham and Coun Nigel Sherwood.
The Newlands Estate - providing what we today call community housing for dozens of families - was built in the 1930s during the era of Brigg Urban District Council.
Many of the families who first occupied homes on the estate moved there from small properties with only basic facilities within town centre courtyards, off Wrawby Street.
These were subsequently cleared and are now occupied by the town's main Old Courts Road car park.
