SHOULD CYCLISTS DISMOUNT IN THE BRIGG PEDESTRIAN AREA?

It was disappointing to see a number of cyclists cutting through Brigg town centre last Thursday.
This is supposed to be a pedestrian area.
Some of the riders were in what we would call full cycling kit.
All the bikes we observed were being ridden well above walking pace.
This being market day, there were plenty of people out and about on foot, visiting the stalls and shops. Surely they should not need to be looking out for approaching bikes!
Use this part of the town as a short cut, by all means, if you are a cyclist - but please dismount and walk alongside your machine until clear of the pedestrian zone.
Do you agree cyclists should dismount in the Market Place and the pedestrianised part of Wrawby Street. Or do you think riding bikes in the town centre should be permitted?
