REAL DEAL ON BRIGG FLOWER DISPLAYS

Brigg Town Councillors spent some time discussing artificial flowers during a committee meeting  in the Angel Suite this week.
Having been trialled on the Old River Ancholme towpath, plastic blooms now look likely to brighten up our rather drab railway station.
Describing them as very colourful, Coun Penny Smith said there had been a lot of comment about the artificial flowers.
Coun Ann Eardley added: "When you first look at them they don't look plastic."
Coun Mike Campion said the flowers near the river were "fine" but he thought some people might question decorating a railway station that's closed to passenger trains six days a week.
Coun Ben Nobbs said putting flowers out at the station showed a willingness from the Town Council to improve things. The hope was more visitors could be attracted to Brigg from places like Sheffield, Gainsborough and Lincoln.
Supporting the introduction of flowers at the station, Coun Lesley Whitehand added: "What matters is the first impression when people get off the train."
