SERVING THE WELL DRESSED MEN OF BRIGG AND DISTRICT
Proprietor Richard Wallhead outside Wallhead's Outfitters at 52 Wrawby Street in Brigg - on the corner of Cross Street. Ken Harrison kindly took the picture outside a business that has been providing "everything for the well dressed man" since 1897, which, if memory serves us correctly, was when Queen Victoria celebrated her Diamond Jubilee. Earlier this year, 2012, Wallhead's was still providing the same service during the identical anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II - which is quite a "double."
Whenever we engage Mr W in conversation he has some interesting views on how Brigg is being run. Not long ago he told us of a visit from the council's "ladder police" who had called in to check he knew how to use steps correctly to reach items on the upper shelves of his well-stocked emporium.
Before someone posts a comment accordingly, we should point out that just because we are reporting on a shop serving "the well dressed man" does not mean we consider ourselves to fall within this descriptive term.
