Brigg Town Council is being asked to guide guidance to Brigg Rotary Club on suitable locations for three new trees to be planted in the town.This is one of the items to be considered at the Town Council's monthly meeting tomorrow (Monday) in the Angel Suite (7.30pm). The meeting is open to the public.
Brigg trees come and go, of course, down the decades. Pictured here is the stump of a very mature one that had to come down in the lovely avenue along Cadney Road. It had been first in line in the right. Did North Lincolnshire Council eventually remove the stump and plant a replacement sapling?
If not, perhaps this could be put forward as a possible site for one of the proposed new trees.
Another one to come down in recent years was at Brigg Recreation Ground, close to the car park. It was a poplar, we think.

Talking about trees - just a technicality, but does the Princess Di's tree in Springs Parade have an actual Tree Protection Order?
I accept that Tesco say they will not remove the tree in their expansion - but that is not the salient point - has it got a TPO?
As a tree of significant local historical interest it should immediately qualify.....unfortunately, the other trees will go!
