BRIGG TOWN CRICKETERS VICTORIOUS IN LOCAL DERBY

Brigg Town Cricket Club enjoyed a home victory over Broughton 2nds yesterday at the Recreation Ground.
This local derby was a Group C tie in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League's new Supplementary Cup.
Brigg's victory owed much to an opening stand of 66 between Mark Dawson, who scored 32, and Danny Bradley, who made 38.
Mark Cawkwell's 14 was the only other double-figure score, except for 17 extras.
Broughton's Simon Cross took a very impressive five wickets for just seven runs.
In reply to Brigg's all-out 122 made in 29 of the permitted 30 overs, Broughton replied with 89, of which skipper Paul Clark contributed 29 and Shaun Roper 24.
Nick Beacock took the eye in the Brigg attack with five for 13.
Result: Brigg Town beat Broughton 2nds by 35 runs.
