BRIGG FLOWER FESTIVAL WILL APPEAL TO TOWNSFOLK & ORGANISATIONS
Two important anniversaries are to be marked in colourful style in Brigg.
FROM MARIA SIMPSON
2018 is the 175th anniversary of St John’s in Brigg and 100 years since the end of WW1.
To mark these anniversaries, St John the Evangelist is putting on a Flower Festival from October 25th to 28th.
The theme will be favourite hymns/bible readings and poetry/songs from the Great War, some of which will be included in the Songs of Praise service on the Sunday evening.
Are you a voluntary organisation which serves the people of Brigg? Would you like to take part in this?
You would need to be available Wednesday 24th October 9am – 2pm to place your arrangement.
There will be a ticket-only preview on the Wednesday evening (final details have still to be arranged)
The church would then be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9.30am – 3.30pm and on the Sunday from 11am – 3pm with a Songs of Praise Service at 6pm.
Please indicate your willingness to participate in our celebrations by leaving your contact details (name, telephone, email) and I will get back to you with further details. Space is limited so it will be allocated on a first come basis.
Contact Maria Simpson, mtsim3@toucansurf.com or telephone 01652 655353, by end of July 2018
There is no charge for putting a display into church unless you want the church to provide and arrange the flowers and for this the charge would be £30.00 and this would be required to be paid by cheque to Brigg PCC and marked flower festival on the back and sent to 3 Oakfield Close, Brigg, DN20 9JD by July 31st.
If you need more information, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for your interest.
We will be producing a programme which will include the volunteer organisation, name of arranger and sponsor.
