Plans have been revealed to build a new gym in Brigg for use by the public and members.
Creating four full-time and two part-time jobs, this leisue facility will be located in a steel-framed building to be erected on currently vacant land now used as overflow car parking.
The location is close to the popular Smithy's Fishing Pond on the edge of the Island Carr Industrial Estate, off Bridge Street.
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering this application and Brigg Town Council will be consulted as part of the planning process.
A design and access statement submitted to the local authority about the Baker-Smith Gym explains it is planned to erect a 20m x 12m mono-pitch steel-framed building incorporating two internal mezzanine floors. Gym facilities will be available to the public and members over the two floors.
Car parking will be provided within the site and the gym hopes to operate between the following hours:
Monday-Friday: 6am to 10pm.
Saturday, Sunday & bank holidays: 8am to 10pm.
Agent for the applicant is Scunthorpe-based North Lincs Structures Ltd.
