Brigg is to get a new fast food takeaway which will specialise in chicken-based meals.
A sign heralding the future opening of Sanjay's Chicken Shack has now gone up at long-vacant premises on Glebe Road, not far from the junction with Grammar School Road, while internal work continues.
There was a fish & shop on this site for at least half-a-century until eventual closure many months ago.
Brigg's last chicken-specialist takeaway was Simon's, on Bridge Street, but although the building remains it is a considerable time since the last meals were served there.
Four years ago, planning permission was granted for the former cafe at 4 Market Place to be converted into a takeaway specialising in hot chicken dishes.
However, this venture failed to proceed and the ground floor of the building it now occupied by Brigg Wool Shop.
