BRIGG PUBS AND COUNCIL TO DISCUSS TIDY SCHEME

Brigg Town Council is to speak to local publicans about furnishing their premises with external bins to collect customers' cigarette ends.
This dialogue will  follow licensed premises being permitted to reopen by the government (possibly next month?).
The council wants to assist in keeping discarded cigarette ends off the pavements.
During last night's council meeting, the Black Bull, Woolpack, Hardy's (Lord Nelson) and Dying Gladiator were mentioned as possible locations for the extra bins.
The council needs to clarify arrangements and responsibility for emptying them once they begin to fill up with fag ends.
Coun Ann Eardley highlighted a problem with chewing gum being discarded on town centre paving - not near pubs.
