STORM JORGE CAN'T STOP FOOTBALL AT BRIGG REC
Storm Jorge failed to claim a second sporting victim in Brigg yesterday (Saturday, February 29).
Brigg Town Football Club's ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One home game with Worsborough Bridge was called off following a morning pitch inspection.
However, on the adjoining Recreation Ground, Briggensians managed to play their EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Division Two match against leaders Ashby Bowl.
Unfortunately, the mid-table Brigg team went down 4-1, but that was no real surprise as 'The Bowlers' have not lost a league game all season! Callum Gilbert scored for Briggensians.
North Lincolnshire Council's Rec, and the pitch at Scotter, were the only ones where play was possible on Saturday in the entire EC Surfacing League.
Barnetby United's home match with AFC Honest Lawyer at Silver Street was postponed, as was Barnetby Reserves' game at New Holland Villa.
The Brigg Town Reserves game at Nettleham in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier also fell foul of the weather.
