UPDATE ON INJURED BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALLER'S CONDITION ISSUED BY THE CLUB
Brigg Town Football Club has issued an update on one of its players who sustained an injury during the home game yesterday (Saturday, October 12).
Play was held up for a considerable time as Stu Longbone was cared for on the field and taken away by ambulance.
Brigg Town FC posted an update via social media today saying that, following 'all clear' scans, he has been released from hospital.
The game with North Ferriby, which finished 1-1, was watched by 505 spectators - a really big attendance for the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) and about three times the average gate.
Some Ferriby fans made the trip over the Humber Bridge to support their team in this ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One fixture.
Stu Longbone had put Brigg ahead after 74 minutes, with Ferriby levelling in the 86th minute through Russell Fry.
Now having 10 points from 10 fixtures, Brigg occupy 15th spot in this 20-team division.
Saturday was national Non-League Day when football followers across the UK were urged to support local teams.
The Zebras made a special appeal for local support at yesterday's match, setting a target of 500 fans, which was achieved.
