BRIGG & BROUGHTON CRICKETERS TAKE TO THE FIELD DESPITE WET WEATHER

Brigg Town and Broughton both managed some play in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League yesterday (Saturday, April 27) but many other games failed to start because of rain.
In Division Three, Brigg journeyed to the well-appointed Marsh Lane ground to play Barton Town 2nds.
Put in to bat after losing the toss, Brigg reached 23 for one (Danny Bradley 16 not out) in eight overs before the game had to be abandoned due to wet weather.
In Division One, Broughton hosted Alkborough, with the visiting villagers rattling up 200 for four before declaring their innings after 34 overs.
Broughton were finding it tough going at 34 for five, apart from Graham Wilson (20 not out), when the game was abandoned 18 overs into their innings.
Earlier in the match, all-rounder Shaun Clark, pictured above, had bowled well for Broughton, taking three for 39 in 12 overs.
Persistent rain meant no play was possible at Hibaldstow where Market Rasen 2nds were due to contest a Division Two fixture.
