The Nelthorpe Arms in Brigg - now closed and being converted to residential use - was renowned for its Irish music, particularly during the very long tenure of mine hosts Myles and Mary Scanlon, who had strong links with The Emerald Isle.
Now that hostelry has passed into history, another Brigg pub will be carrying things on later this month with an Irish music night.
The Yarborough Hunt, also on Bridge Street: "Come join us all for a little jig and sing-along to some Irish folk songs played live by the wonderful duo Fiddlers Green, on Saturday 22 September, from 7.30pm."
There's an open invitation to go along and "enjoy the craic."
During the final night's trading at the Nelthorpe Arms this spring, live Irish music (see picture above) was a feature in the bar as locals said farewell to a pub dating back to the mid-19th century.
For many years its jukebox played songs made famous by The Pogues, The Dubliners and others.
