BEN KEEPS BARNETBY FOOTBALLERS IN THE HUNT

BARNETBY UNITED 5 SHERPA 2

Ben Hunt made it 4 goals in his first 2 Barnetby games as he helped his side to a 5-2 win against Sherpa in the 1st round of the TSW Printers Sporting Shield.
Sweeping changes again were made from the previous week, which now appears to be the norm in local football, and the Railwaymen took time to settle.
On the quarter hour a flowing move was finished off with a sweet and assured left-footed finish by Andy Bradley.
5 minutes later a scramble from a free kick saw the evergreen Micky Dunnion put Barnetby 2-0 to the good.
A shot in their own foot gifted Sherpa a penalty from which Kyle Reeves coolly slotted home to make the score 2-1 at the interval.
30 seconds into the 2nd half the lively Blendell flashed a centre across the Sherpa box that was inadvertently turned into the Sherpa net by a defender.
3-1 became 4-1 moments later when Blendell’s centre was turned home by Hunt. He added his 2nd moments later and the game was almost over.
With 20 minutes remaining Broughton pulled a goal back for Sherpa latching on to a through but Barnetby held firm.
