A Brigg school reunion went ahead, beating the snow and ice last night (Saturday, March 17).
However, the Briggensians' Association annual dinner speaker, who was travelling from mid-Lincolnshire over the Wolds, was forced to turn back because of adverse conditions.
A number of others - coming from other parts of the UK - also had to tender their apologies.
The dinner was enjoyed - at snow-covered Elsham Golf Club - by former students of Brigg Grammar School, Brigg Girls' High, Sir John Nelthorpe and Brigg Sixth Form.
Having one of the shortest journeys to make to the venue, we were the first to arrive and had the bar to ourselves for some time. Not a golfer in sight, which was very unusual.
