VETERAN BRIGG SPORTSMAN JOINS EXCLUSIVE CLUB

Brigg Blog sends birthday best wishes to a veteran sportsman who joins an exclusive club today (December 13).
Andrew Markham has reached 60 and  so joins a select band in the town who have  reached that milestone birthday while still playing any field sport regularly.
'Sass' - as he is better known to many in the town - is a goalkeeper with Brigg Men's Hockey Club.
He is also a very active local fundraiser for Pancreatic Cancer charities and a worthy recipient of the Joseph J. Magrath Brigg Town Civic Award for Voluntary Service.
Educated and raised in Brigg, Andrew is a former Town Councillor.
He played school and local league football in Brigg and also appeared for the Town cricket club.
In his younger days he hitch-hiked around the world and 'thumbed it' between Land's End and John O'Groats.
He has also visited a very large number of League football grounds in England and Scotland.
Next time we meet up on licensed premises, a pint will be heading his way!
