PLAN CONSIDERED TO DEVELOP BRIGG TOWN CENTRE SITE

North Lincolnshire Council is now considering plans to develop the vacant site to the right of the picture in Brigg town centre.
It's on Coney Court - next to the Servicemen's Club and directly opposite the Hungry Fisherman chippie and restaurant.
Some months ago it was suggested that the authority was acquiring, or had acquired, the site with a view to installing small retail units and tidying up this part of the courtyard.
A few days ago, Brigg Blog walked past the land on our way from Cary Lane to the Market Place and noticed an estate agent's "For Sale" sign in place, which prompted us to seek an update from the council.
A spokeswoman for North Lincolnshire Council helpfully replied: "We have acquired this land. We will look at getting the sign removed.
"A feasibility study is currently being carried out that includes this land and the wider area."
Most of the other old courtyards of Brigg have been re-developed to provide shops or living accommodation over many decades, but Coney Court has seen little investment. Until now, perhaps...
