TRIBUTE TO STAUNCH SUPPORTER OF EDUCATION IN BRIGG

Brigg Blog was sad to learn of the death of a man well-known for his contribution to education in the town.
Robin Sumpter OBE, who was 85, had served as a governor of Sir John Nelthorpe School and supported the Briggensians' Association for many years, attending annual dinners (see picture above) and other events.
Robin was educated at Brigg Grammar School from 1941 to 1948.
He qualified as a solicitor and was connected with many groups and societies in North Lincolnshire  - charitable, sporting and cultural.
