COUNTING DOWN TO THE BRIGG CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COUNTDOWN. OH YES WE ARE!

It's always an exciting time for Brigg youngsters when they help by shouting out the 5-4-3-2-1 countdown to the official switch on of the town centre's Christmas lights, provided by Brigg Town Council (and now of the modern LED variety).
This year's light launch is now less than 4 weeks away and will be held in the Market Place on Friday, December 2.
There will be a stage on which the Town Mayor, Coun Ann Eardley, will be joined by other VIPs.
We can now confirm that the cast of this year's Scunthorpe pantomime will  be in attendance to provide traditional Christmas entertainment, prior to the switch on at 5pm.
This will then herald the official opening of the Annual Christmas Market in the town centre, which will continue throughout the rest of the evening.
Many business premises will be staying open until 9pm so people can do a spot of Christmas shopping. The tills will be ringing merrily on high!
Brigg Blog suggests site followers put the date, December 2, in their diaries/organisers or write it on the old wall calendar.
We'll be giving a reminder, but you won't want to miss what is the town's largest community event of the year, in terms of attendance.
