The main planning application of the evening proposed erecting six semi-detached dwellings, along with associated access and landscaping, on the former Brigg Central Kitchen site, off Colton Street.
An application for eight homes on this site had been rejected by North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee some weeks ago.
But Coun Storey explained: "They have come back with a fresh application."
The Town Council decided not to raise any objections to the plan for six homes.
There are fewer houses and provision for some parking.
The application now progresses to North Lincolnshire Council, which will decide whether to grant permission.
Other applications considered by town councillors tonight were:
- Planning permission to erect a two-storey side and rear extension, 41 St. Helen’s Road. No objections raised.
- Planning permission to raise the ground level across the site, Site 3, Atherton Way. No objections raised.
- Notification of proposed work to fell and replace a yew tree within Brigg's conservation area, Yew Cottage, Albert Street. No objections raised
- Carry out alterations and sub-divide an existing dwelling to form two dwellings and erect a new detached dwelling, Treetops, 2 Nicolgate Lane. No objections raised.
These applications now progress to the final stage in the process - North Lincolnshire Council.
Councillors present at the meeting tonight's meeting were: Coun Storey, Deputy Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley, Couns Donald and Tina Cambell, Coun Brian Parker, Coun Sharon Riggall, Coun Jane Gibbons, Coun Louise Mikkonen, Coun Ian Wilson.
Town Clerk Claire Davis was also in attendance to offer advice when required.
