CHANCE TO JOIN BRIGG TENNIS CLUB

How about joining Brigg Tennis Club?
Helen Cresswell says: "Go to our new website www.briggtennis to find out more. We would like to start a new youth group, 15-25 yrs, on Mondays, 6pm, if we have enough interest."
Remember the tennis courts at Brigg Recreation Ground? Grass and hard surface. How popular they were while Wimbledon was on!

  1. Now I've learnt yer all sorts of Latin words, Niggel...in some of me recent comments...
It is widely accepted that 'Love' in tennis, meaning nought - 0...originates from the French 'L'oeuf', meaning 'egg' - its shape resembling '0'..
Similarly, in cricket, 'Duck' - meaning '0'..ie 'Out for a duck'...stems from the shape of a duckie egg...Clever, eh!

  2. will the new rec courts go same way as the old, most people used the courts for free,as access was open to all.yet you had to "book" the courts via ancholme leisure centre & pay for hire, which hardly anyone did,why pay for something which you can get free.so data showed that the courts were not hardly used when the opposite was true.maybe a pin system via mobie pay pal or app & pin changed daily, but this would be in danger of being damaged.
