Many Brigg people visited town centre pubs to see in the New Year last night.
We weren’t intending to take any pictures but the above was a special request inside the Lord Nelson.
From 9pm onwards we also visited the Britannia (twice), Dying Gladiator and Yarborough Hunt.
Looking back over many a New Year’s Eve in Brigg, we have to say that we’ve seen pubs a good deal busier on December 31 than they were last night.
We bought a bag of chips to eat on the way home, about 11.30, and found no-one else waiting to be served!
Clearly a good many folk chose to stay at home, have their own family celebrations and perhaps let off some fireworks in the garden.
The weather - colder than of late - didn’t help and may be the reason why some cancelled their planned trips into town.
We had a walk along Wrawby Street and Bigby Street this morning and although we saw some litter about, there was not a huge amount.
A lager glass was neatly positioned on a window ledge in Bigby Street and perhaps sums up New Year’s Eve. Do we consider it half full or half empty?
