BRIGG STRUCTURE FROM QUEEN VICTORIA'S REIGN ABOUT TO DISAPPEAR

The iron footbridge at Brigg railway station, erected in the 19th century when Queen Victoria was the reigning monarch, is about to be demolished.
Contractors are now on the the site and have established a secure compound adjoining the station.
Demolition will begin any day soon. So if you want to take a last look, don't delay!
Network Rail will be putting up a new footbridge, but one with steps rather than ramps.
The old stucture, also with steps, failed its last inspection test.
Brigg Blog went out last week and photographed the footbridge from all angles - just for posterity. We will share those with you at a later date.
