BRIGG POLICE STATION - THE INSIDE STORY

Ken Harrison took these pictures inside and outside Brigg police station, in Barnard Avenue, alongside the A18, and has kindly shared them with Brigg Blog.
The station was opened in 1978 by Humberside Police, replacing the original Victorian structure in Wrawby Street, with adjoining courthouse, since tastefully converted for residential use.
The courthouse continued to operate for some time after the police moved out, but eventually everything was centralised at the North Lincolnshire Court Centre, in Laneham Street, Scunthorpe.
While on the staff of the Lincolnshire & South Humberside Times, we spent many an interesting Wednesday and Friday reporting on the minor cases which came before Brigg magistrates.
We also made regular trips to the "cop shop" - first job of the day, 9am, to check up on what had happened overnight.
