BRIGG POLICE STATION A SIGN OF THE TIMES?

There are plans to replace/refurbish some of the metal finger signs fixed to ornate posts in Brigg town centre which point the way for visitors.
However, the Town Council's Property and Services Committee has decided there's no point in investing in finger signs directing people to the police station in Barnard Avenue.
This is in view of the well-publicised changes to policing to be completed by mid-April.
The Town Clerk is to walk round the town centre, draw up a list of recommendations about the finger posts and report back to councillors with recommendations.
The work on the finger-posts is being done in consultation with the Brigg 2020 Group.

  1. This is very long over-due....the concern is nothing new, it was POINTED out to the powers that be years ago!
Since the 'Police Station' finger is already present there is no need to 'invest' in it....either remove it, or add a Question Mark'!
It was also pointed out that there is no finger for the Heritage Centre; one finger in the Market Place has been broken for about 4 years - others point in the wrong direction....
Rather than a single person (the Town Clerk) wandering about the town making notes, why not ask Brigg folk what buiddings/facilities/services/places that they would like to be indicated by a finger?
After all that's what the 20/20 committee and the earlier Community-Led Plan was all about....
