HERE ARE PICTURES TO SHOW WATERS EDGE ESTATE IS JUST A STONE’S THROW FROM BRIGG

Brigg Blog took these pictures to show the close proximity of Broughton’s Waters Edge housing estate to our market town, and also how near these homes are to Scawby parish (just across the A18).

The question being posed is: How many people who live on Water’s Edge might be in favour of living in Brigg?

Or, to put it another way: How many of them would like to see the boundary moved? 

It seems that - at the very least -  there would have to be a local poll for there to be any hope of a boundary change. As we’ve said before, don’t expect a quick answer on this one, but do expect plenty of discussion in the coming months.

The electors on Waters Edge vote in Broughton Town Council elections and for the Broughton and Appleby ward on North Lincolnshire Council, whereas folk a few yards on the other side of the Ancholme are represented by Brigg Town Council and the Brigg and Wolds ward reps on the unitary authority. So it's quite a complex issue.

Broughton Town Council has already stated it's against the changing of the boundary.
