BRIGG TOWN MAYOR ON THE BALL FOR CHARITY

Brigg Town Mayor Coun Carl Sherwood yesterday placed a couple of charity bets, courtesy of Ladbrokes, at the famous firm's Market Place premises.
Coun Carl said he had to be patriotic and so began by placing £25 on England to win the Euro tournament at 16/1. He's also put One Foot in the Algarve with a £25 flutter on Portugal at 20/1.
Also a Cabinet-ranking member of North Lincolnshire Council, he knows a lot about local football, having enjoyed a very long career in the game at amateur level in this area.
But Brigg Blog is unsure about his abilities as a tipster when it comes to the top level of the game.
We shall see!
He was given a warm welcome by the friendly staff at Ladbrokes, including manager Anita Daniels, Sarah Nend and Lauren Bonner, who were there when he placed his bets.
Should Coun Carl's tips come off, the proceeds will boost his appeal fund, for which he will be raising money until next May for LIVES first responders and Brigg Breast Cancer Care Support.
