BRIGG DEVELOPMENT PLANS ON AGENDA

Brigg Town Council is about to consider plans submitted to build eight town houses, two maisonettes, four flats and three shops, which will involve the demolition of existing old buildings.
Planning permission is being sought from North Lincolnshire Council by Market Court Developments Ltd,   GSA House, Brigg, for land to the rear of 5 and 6 Market Place.
As part of the planning process, Brigg Town Council must be consulted.
This is the second time these planning applications have appeared on the agenda of the Town Council's Planning and Environment Committee.
On the first occasion, members agreed to defer discussions to give themselves more time to consider things and give councillors further opportunity to view the proposed development site.
The old buildings under threat of demolition are off Cary Lane, between Spencer Molloy's shop and the rear of 7 Market Place - the Brigg office of Ian Cawsey when he was the local MP.
Brigg councillors will consider the applications on Wednesday (Feb 8) during a meeting in the Angel Suite (7pm). This meeting is in the Lounge (downstairs) and is open to the public.
It should be stressed that the final decision on whether to grant planning approval rests with North Lincolnshire Council.
Following that meeting, members of the public will also be welcome to sit in at a meeting of Brigg Town Council's Property and Services Committee, in the Angel Suite Lounge, from 7.45pm.
This will include updates on Brigg's two allotment sites, the Angel Suite and the Christmas lights.
