BRIGG WILL CELEBRATE THE ROYAL WEDDING OF PRINCE HARRY & MEGAN MARKLE WITH FREE EVENT

A special FREE event is to be held in Brigg following the  Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on Saturday, May 19 2018.
There will be  "a bit of a do" in the  Angel Suite, from 4pm to 6.30pm.
Townsfolk are being invited along to join the celebrations at an event organised by Brigg Angel's WI (Women's Institute).
The WI will be hosting a traditional afternoon tea for the local community, accompanied by music and games.
This community event - provided free by  Brigg Angels - forms part of the WI's "quest to alleviate loneliness in our local community."
If you would like an invitation to attend, they can be picked up from Brigg Tourist Information Centre at the Buttercross, Brigg Community Café in the Youth Centre on Tuesday mornings 10am to noon, at Brigg Carers' Support Centre on Redcombe Lane, or from the Brigg Town Council Office in the Angel complex on Thursday mornings, 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Brigg's last major Royal wedding celebration came on April 29, 2011 - when Prince William married Catherine Middleton.
Many people visited local pubs to watch the ceremony and raise a glass to the happy couple.
The Black Bull, on Wrawby Street, decorated its beer garden with flags and bunting.
Our picture above shows mine host Richard Smith and regular Trev Vessey back then.
Richard now runs the Lord Nelson in Brigg, having had a spell as head chef at the Jolly Miller, Wrawby.
