DANCE COMPANY WORKS WITH BRIGG SCHOOL PUPILS

FROM KIRSTY WESTFIELD, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

Balbir Singh Dance Company has been working with Huntcliff School in Kirton-in-Lindsey and Sir John Nelthorpe School in Brigg to put on a performance at Grimsby Auditorium on Thursday 16 June at 7.30pm.
Balbir Singh Dance Company will present ‘Champion of the Flatlands’, a thrilling combination of performance art and urban culture featuring UK and Euro champion ‘flatland’ BMX rider Keelan Philips. This will be alongside the performance from the school pupils.
It will be the real-life tale of a champion cyclist; a passionate tale of dedication and perseverance, embracing failure, conquering nerves and overcoming self-doubt. Enter a world where difference is celebrated and trust is essential. It is a mixture of athletes and dancers that never stop moving.
Pupils from both schools have taken part in workshops with Balbir Singh Dance Company in preparation for their performance. The workshops included aspects of Kathak (classical Indian dance) focusing on technique, rhythm, musicality, expressional and storytelling dance.
Tickets for the performance cost only £5. They can be booked directly through Grimsby Auditorium on the website http://grimsbyauditorium.org.uk or by calling the Box Office on 0300 300 0035.
