BRIGG JUNCTION WHERE YOU NEED THREE SETS OF EYES

There's an unusual Brigg junction where you need to take particular care as a driver.
It's on Bigby Street - opposite the old Post Office - where an extension of road from Albert Street (outside Hewson House) meets Bigby Street (see picture above).
This slip road causes problems for drivers parked up in the adjoining lay-by on Bigby Street (extreme right of picture, close to the traffic pole).
We parked there one morning earlier this week and looked left to see whether anything was waiting on the slip road. It wasn't.
We then looked right, and behind, to see whether any vehicles were approaching along Bigby Road. They weren't.
But as we prepared to leave the lay-by, a van appeared in the slip road to our left and pulled out onto Bigby Street.
The usual instruction to motorists is: Make sure you look RIGHT, LEFT, and RIGHT again, before driving out!"
At this unusual junction in Brigg, you are well advised to Look RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT AGAIN and then LEFT AGAIN.
We've highlighted this difficult road layout before.
The short section of road which poses the problem could easily be removed.
Just a few yards away is another way to drive from Albert Street onto Bigby Street - a short spur directly opposite Station Road, close to the zebra crossing.  
The extension we think should be removed is therefore a duplicate.
Its main use seems to be by drivers wanting to turn across both lanes of Bigby Road and pull up right outside the old Post Office to nip in and collect a parcel or two. 
We think North Lincolnshire Council should consider removing the short extension road from Albert Street to Bigby Street and use the carriageway to create extra short stay parking bays, perhaps taking in part of the "garden" area in front of Hewson House.
More short stay parking in this area of the town centre would be very welcome.
