Repairs to the A18 in Brigg are causing some delays for drivers in Brigg today (Sunday, June 5).
One lane is coned off near the old courthouse/police station.
You won't find stop-go boards or temporary traffic lights. Drivers approaching from Barnard Avenue and heading towards the Monument have to give way to on-coming vehicles and wait for a gap in the traffic.
It appears that a trench across the A18 is being resurfaced.
The work was well under way when we passed about 10.30am today, so hopefully it will be completed fairly soon.
Sunday is clearly the best day of the week to carry out such repairs, with traffic flows lower they are Monday to Saturday. However, there are still plenty of vehicles about and we encountered traffic backed up as far as the Old Courts Road traffic lights.
