WEEKEND SPORTS PREVIEW: BRIGG TOWN FC KEEN TO WIN LEAGUE GAME BEFORE FAITHFUL FANS

Brigg Town Football Club has a first team home game this weekend, which will also see four of our local cricket sides in action as the summer sport's season enters its closing weeks.
The Zebras welcomes Derbyshire side Staveley Miners Welfare to the EC Surfacing Stadium for a Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One fixture on Saturday, September 2 (3pm KO).
Both sides have made decent starts to the 2022/2023 campaign and are currently mid-table.
Unusually, Brigg have drawn their opening three home league fixtures, although they did win at the EC Surfacing Stadium last week in the FA Vase against Runcorn.
Pip's Kitchen and the Hawthorns bar will be open for refreshments, with another sizeable 250+ crowd anticipated.
Brigg Town Development are without a Saturday fixture in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
Brigg Town's cricketers are striving to avoid the proverbial wooden spoon in Lincolnshire County League Division Three West.
Tomorrow they will be visiting Immingham to play Caistor 2nds - a change of venue being necessary because of grass-related issues at Caistor's Brigg Road Ground. Caistor are the only side below Brigg in the table - six points being the difference.
In the same section, second-in-the-table Broughton 2nds journey to the Isle of Axholme to meet Outcasts 2nds.
Mid-table Broughton 1sts have a Division One home game against Cherry Willingham 1sts, while Hibaldstow 1sts (just above the relegation places) host Nettleham 2nds in Division Two.
These games all begin at 1pm.
On Sunday (September 3) bottom-placed Hibaldstow 2nds will complete their programme in Mick Walker North Lindsey Cricket League Division Two with a visit to Outcasts 3rds at Hirst Priory, near Crowle.
Another Ancholme Valley Way Parkrun will be held in Brigg tomorrow, starting from the Ancholme Way Bridge at 9am.
Last Saturday's event attracted 105 competitors. View the full results here...
