Both our local teams were in action in the North Lindsey Cricket League yesterday (Sunday, June 12) Brigg Blog was pleased to see after a the previous weekend's total wash-out.
Sadly, yesterday's programme saw Hibaldstow 2nds and Broughton 3rds suffer Division Two defeats.
Broughton visited the rural Hirst Priory ground between Crowle and Belton, where Outcasts 3rds posted 190 for five in their 40 overs.
The fact that eight Broughton bowlers were employed speaks for itself - the most effective being Oliver Hayward who took two for 32.
Broughton fell short with 168 for nine - Josh Smith scoring 57.
Hibaldstow had an off day on their visit to another rural setting - West Halton Lane, Alkborough.
The table-topping home side made 186 for seven, despite Hibaldstow's Nathan Goodall having fine figures of three for five.
The visitors were bowled out for 71 in the 22nd over - Lee Robinson hitting 24 late in the innings.
Broughton 3rds are at the foot of the table after losing their opening three league fixtures, while Hibaldstow 2nds are one place above them with a win and three defeats so far.
Brigg Town does not compete in the North Lindsey League.
