Local ghost walks became popular after being launched by the Brigg Amateur Social Historians group (BASH) 17 years ago.
People used to meet up outside what later became Wetherspoon's White Horse pub on Wrawby Street, to enjoy guided after-dark tours of historic buildings and streets long associated with spooky tales which have been handed down through many generations.
Due to the passage of time, some of the guides who took charge of these tours would now have difficulty walking the route.
So hopefully some volunteers will step forward to organise future events and lead the groups of spectators on Halloween and at other times of the year.
Brigg Blog recently received this suggestion, prompting us to publicise it in the hope that someone, or some local group, will now step forward to arrange future walks.
We are confident that the contents of the original ghost walk script will be forthcoming to assist with this.
Indeed, we can recall playing a part in producing the original which was passed on to the tour guides.
Those interested in running future ghost walks can email Brigg Blog or have a word with us in person at some point and we'll happily act as a go-between.
Hopefully, ghost walks can be re-established, allowing Brigg Blog to keep using our favoured headline It will be all fright on the night!
The initial Brigg Ghost Walk was held in October 2004 on Halloween - BASH having been formed the previous year, with initial meetings/talks behind held at the White Horse.
