The Food Fest held in Brigg town centre was blessed with fine and sunny weather when it opened at noon yesterday (Friday, October 1) following the wet and windy conditions which had prevailed some hours earlier.
This successful Lincolnshire Day event was organised and promoted by North Lincolnshire Council and continued into the evening.
Brigg Blog popped down early in the afternoon to take a selection of pictures and noted many food outlets - takeaway and sit down - doing brisk trade.
People we knew from Brigg, Scawby, Broughton and communities nearby were joined by shoppers from other areas of North Lincolnshire.
Andy and Tracey Noon, mine hosts at the Black Bull pub, erected a temporary stand on the hostelry's Wrawby Street frontage; the YellowBelly Pizzeria did likewise in the Market Place; and there were busy scenes outside La Finca, the Angel-based eatery.
Brigg's For Heaven's Cake was selling tasty products from its Graze Box trailer located near the County Bridge.
The Dinky Donuts stand was manned by a couple of cricketers we played against regularly for Brigg Town in the 1970s and 1980s, when they were with a club based in Ashby!
Coun Rob Waltham, from Brigg, who is the Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, was also present in the afternoon - joining staff from the local markets authority on their stand.
Brigg Food Bank and Humberside Police had stalls in the Market Place.
It's to be hoped that another Food Fest, or something along similar lines, will be arranged in Brigg for Lincolnshire Day 2022.

Yesterday saw political leaders, MPs, mayors and guests from across greater Lincolnshire came together "to celebrate our great county", North Lincolnshire Council said.
The leaders of North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire County Councils – Couns Waltham, Phillip Jackson and Martin Hill – hosted the event at Normanby Hall to mark Lincolnshire Day "and strengthen ties across the whole of the historic county."
The event also saw the winners of the Greater Lincolnshire Menu competition announced. It was launched by the three councils "to showcase the wealth of amazing food producers in the county."
Breakfast category: Smoked haddock kedgeree, from Alfred Enderby, Grimsby.
Lunch category: Sautéed Lincolnshire sausage, black pudding and chorizo on sourdough, from The George, Kirton in Lindsey.
Dinner category: The Yellow Belly pizza, from The Wood Shed Pizza in Louth, featuring slices of Lincolnshire sausage, Lincolnshire Poacher cheese, red onion and mozzarella.
Coun Waltham said: “This is the first time colleagues from across our great county have come together to celebrate Lincolnshire Day and it is a real privilege to be able to host the occasion.
“Lincolnshire Day is about showcasing all that is great in our region, so it is fitting that we meet at Normanby Hall – one of many fantastic tourist attractions our county has to offer – to plant a tree that will be enjoyed by generations to come.
“By standing together with shared purpose we can look forward with renewed optimism. The green shoots are everywhere as we build a future of opportunity, of well-paid, sustainable jobs and investment that will improve the lives of residents, now and in the future.”
