Ancholme Rowing Club - based in Brigg - hosted a major autumn event yesterday (Sunday, October 10) which many people supported.
Ancholme Head races were held in the morning and afternoon in ideal sunny conditions.
Competitors from our local club were joined by others drawn from a wide area including Lincoln, Leicester, Sheffield, Hull, Newark, York, Bradford and Doncaster.
Race headquarters were the Ancholme club's boathouse, off Manley Gardens, with many craft being unloaded from trailers on adjoining Bridge Street. Others were accommodated on land close to the Ancholme Way Bridge.
Spectators gathered along the riverside to watch the boats on their way down to Broughton Bridge for the racing.
Most of the visitors went in search of food and drink at some point during their stay in Brigg, generating extra Sunday trade for local businesses.
Dunham's bakery was ideally located, but there were other fast food options in the Market Place and on Wrawby Street.
Nearest ports of call open to those fancying a pint were the Yarborough Hunt and the Woolpack.
