Brigg Town Football Club, chasing promotion from ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One, lost 5-4 last night when visiting FC Humber United.
However, the Zebras remain at the top of the table - this being a game in hand they had on other leading teams.
Brigg and North Ferriby both have 34 points from 14 fixtures, but Town have a much superior goal difference.
Third-placed Hallam are two points behind them, also having played 14 matches.
Scorers for Brigg Town in Selby last night were Scott Phillips (2), Steve McCarron and Andrew Taylor. It was 3-3 at half-time.
This was only the Zebras' second league defeat of the 2021/22 season.
