The final total raised for charity through a recent sports match played at Brigg Recreation Ground has now been announced.
Brigg Town Cricket Club arranged the Gary 'Bottler' Smith Testimonial fixture at the Recreation Ground on the last Saturday in June, with present and former players taking part in ideal sunny weather.
More than £650 was realised on the day (assisted by a raffle) since when contributions have continued to be received from far and wide.
Long-serving Brigg player Jack Richards, who co-ordinated the event, now tell us that the final total is £837-46p, to be donated to the Stroke Association.
Gary, a Brigg Town opening batsman for many seasons, was a spectator at this game.
It is now anticipated this will become an annual fixture. The date of the 2022 match to be announced once Brigg Town's Saturday fixture list has been confirmed for next season.
