Licensed premises in Brigg are now signing up live music acts, including local band The Dirty Pitchers (pictured here). Such bookings indicate that things are slowly getting back to normal after Coronavirus emergency restrictions put live music performances on hold.
The Dirty Pitchers, who have appeared at various Brigg venues in recent years and others outside the town, will be performing in the beer garden behind our Black Bull on Saturday, July 10, from 6pm. Admission free. They perform Britpop favourites and many other popular tunes.
The Lord Nelson, in the Market Place, has booked male vocalist Smudge for Saturday, May 29. He will perform from 5pm to 6.30pm and then again from 8.30pm. People wanting to enjoy either, or both, sets are asked to book tables in advance. Call 01652 652127.
Brigg & District Servicemen's Club, on Coney Court, has booked Relentless, a rockabilly band, to appear on Saturday, July 17, from 8.30pm (with supporting disco) and singer Emma Ramsden for Saturday night, August 7.
Emma, who has made previous appearances in Brigg, performs hits from the 1960s through to the present era.
Relentless have played gigs in the past at the Servicemen's Club and the Woolpack.
PICTURED ABOVE: The Dirty Pitchers performing a beer garden gig at Brigg's Yarborough Hunt in July 2016 - the first time we'd seen the band play. They opened with "a bit of Black Sabbath" from the early 1970s, later playing many familiar tunes, including Oasis favourites. This gig attracted a good crowd, aged 18 to 60+. The Pitchers soon established a large local following.
