HALF-CENTURIES SCORED BY BRIGG, BROUGHTON & HIBALDSTOW CRICKETERS


Half-centuries were scored by batsmen from Brigg Town, Broughton and Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire County Cricket League matches played yesterday (Saturday May 15).
Matthew Bell top scored with 51 - hitting six boundaries - as Brigg were bowled out for 120 on their visit to Caistor 2nds for a Supplementary Cup qualifying group fixture which Caistor went on to win by six wickets.
Broughton's Neil Simpson hit 96 and Nick Dobbs 75 as they rattled up an impressive 273 for seven in the Division One home game against Alford who were then dismissed for only 70.
In the same division, Hibaldstow's Lee Robinson finished 73 not out as his team overtook Messingham's 208 for eight in the final over of the day to win by five wickets.
However, Broughton 2nds had a day to forget - being shot out for only 16 runs at Alkborough in Division Two and suffering a 10-wicket defeat.

Some Scunthorpe & District Sunday Football League games are being played in our area today (Sunday).
Mulligans take on Redbourn in Barnetby, while FC Crown meet Ashby at Hibaldstow.
Scawby Rovers are away to CDF Republic of Heslam at the Co-op Ground in Scunthorpe. All these games kick off at 10.30am.
