A recruitment campaign for new members has been launched by 2222 Brigg Squadron of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, and Brigg Blog has been asked by Pilot Officer George Crampton (RAFAC) to publicise these details he has kindly provided...
2222 (Brigg) Squadron is now recruiting
2222 (Brigg) Squadron is launching its next recruitment drive to encourage young people aged 12 (Year 8) – 17 to enrol and become part of the team, starting in June 2021.
The Royal Air Force Air Cadets aims are to:
- Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people.
- Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
- Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
And there is one more important thing - it is a lot of fun!
As a cadet, you will get the opportunity to do things others can only dream about. Flying, Gliding, Shooting, Adventure Training, Fieldcraft and so much more. There are many challenging activities, but we give you the ability to overcome them.
Flight Lieutenant (RAFAC) Graham Slater, Officer Commanding 2222 (Brigg) Squadron, had this to say:
“After the success of our virtual intake, I am excited to see new Cadets coming through our doors to become part of a team, and look forward to seeing them achieve goals, gain experiences and qualifications whilst having fun and gaining friendships.
“With enthusiastic, qualified volunteer staff ready to encourage you to become the best that you can be in all aspects of your time with us".
The squadron will be holding a recruitment day on Saturday 5 June 2021 between 1000hrs and 1500hrs, to give an overview of what the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and 2222 (Brigg) has to offer and to answer any questions parents/guardians might have.
