Brigg Town Council is planning to provide outdoor gym equipment for adult exercise, to be sited on the Millennium Green and near the River Ancholme path - close to the B&M store.
In addition to cash from the town authority, it is hoped to secure 'match funding' from other sources.
The exact nature of the exercise equipment was not specified during Brigg Town Council's December meeting when the purchasing was agreed. Provision will be made in the budget for the next financial year, starting in April 2021.
Coun Rob Waltham said things were progressing with assistance from Andrew Percy MP, and it was hoped to secure additional funding.
Coun Jane Kitching wondered if, following the success of the initial locations, more adult gym equipment could be provided in other areas of the town.
Coun Carl Sherwood suggested a subsequent "roll out" to areas like the Davy Memorial playing field and Woodbine Park. He said North Lincolnshire Council had already installed this type of equipment elsewhere and it was well used. He described it as "pretty sturdy" and manufactured to be as indestructible as possible.
The Town Council will be setting its budget for 2021/22 early next year.
