Amendments to train departure times from Brigg railway station have been confirmed since our last post about the forthcoming resumption of passenger services. Trains will start running again from next Saturday (September 19).
Those departing from platform one and heading east to Barnetby, Grimsby Town and Cleethorpes will leave Brigg at the following times: 8.59am, 1pm and 4.58pm.
These trains will be arriving EARLIER than was the case up to March when the Sheffield-Brigg-Cleethorpes service was suspended due to factors related to the Coronavirus emergency.
From Saturday, September 19 departure times for trains from platform two at Brigg station, calling at Kirton Lindsey, Gainsborough, Retford and Sheffield, will be: 11.48am, 3.43pm and 7.48pm.
This new timetable operates from September 14 to December 12, 2020 - following which it will be reviewed. The service provider is Northern. www.northernrailway.co.uk
Passenger trains along the Brigg line only run on Saturdays, which has been the case since the early 1990s.
Today (September 12) there may well be a couple of passenger trains passing through Brigg; they are being used for training purposes ahead of the service resuming this coming weekend.
